Cultural Diversity & Technology Integration
My name is C. Erika Mané, and I am a second-year doctoral student in the Learning, Design, and Technology Program in the Career and Information Services Department at the University of Georgia.
I am a former secondary mathematics teacher originally from the Mid-Atlantic region. I love teaching and using technology innovatively which inspired me to help teachers in low socioeconomic schools improve the academic success of their students.
I am interested in providing leadership to promote clearly defined academic goals and vision for learning. I would like to obtain expertise in faculty development in utilizing research-based instructional strategies that help advance students as they prepare for either higher education or the workforce. Through leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills, I want to encourage education professionals to utilize the most effective use of education technology resources available to promote the academic development and digital literacy of all students.
“Anyone that ever accomplished anything, did not know how they were going to do it. They only knew they were going to do it.” ~Bob Proctor
I am currently working with a social work graduate student to design a workshop that inspires local elementary school students to develop an interest in technology-related activities.
